better billiards
I went to “Rack ‘em up” with my officemates. And you know what… after 3 years; I was able to play billiards again!! Yeah, Back in college, I was really good at it, I joined tournaments, (even became champion once on women’s division). I was invited to join the Philippine Billiard Team, I will be trained and get monthly allowance, and be included on international competitions like SEAGAMES, ASEAN or even Olympics! How about that huh? But mommy did not let me, She was afraid I won't be able to finish my studies :)
When I was enrolling for college back then, I will never forget this PE instructress who asked me to try-out for the women’s basketball team in our school (because I’m kind’a tall for a filipina, 5'7"). I told her I can’t because it’s too physical. She said “How about volleyball?” I said “I don’t know how to play volleyball, and I can’t because I might break my wrists”. Coz I'm really clumsy.
I thought she already gave up, but then she asked me to try table tennis, she said I should make use of my height into sports. Hey, I’m not into sports I’m into showbiz (kidding). Starting that day, I thought of a sport that is not as physical as basketball or volleyball but not as boring as chess…………… and there comes Billiards, my perfect match!Since I graduated, I’m not able to play billiards anymore. When I tried it again, I don’t have the what they call “tumbok” or spot anymore, but after awhile I got at ease and there it is again (not as good as before though).
I'm not in the picture, I was the one who took it.
It was such a nice night, the cue stick felt good in my hands! I got to play billiards again after sooooo long. It’s like seeing an old friend.
