the golden rule

I turned on the word verification feature for the comments here in my blog. Hence, we have had a project here in the office which was called the “bloggers project”. It’s like promoting our client’s website, we search for blogs that are related to our client’s site, leave comments and a link to the client’s site and that’s it. I think this is called “spam comments” which is what I’m experiencing now. When I checked my email earlier, I thought, gosh, there are so many comments on my blog today, I’ve fans! Haha!

I deleted 60 comments today, 2 for each of my posts. It was anonymous saying stuffs like “I find information here” Then a link to loan-dot-ujtar-dot-17-slash-whatever… or “You are Excellent. And so is your site! Keep up the good work.” Link to 10oal-dot-info-slash-1678, and so many more comments just like that. And when I tried to open the link, my computer hung.

It took me time to delete all. Well, I hope this won’t happen again. Moral lesson for today, “Don’t do unto others, what you don’t want others to do unto you”!!

here they come to save the day!!!

I can’t believe I surpassed this day. I was out of budget, because the salary was delayed (as usual). I have a hundred bucks on my pants yesterday, which I forgot to transfer before I went for today. When I got in the jeep, and got my wallet to pay for the fare, there are two 20 peso bills and some coins, so let’s say I have 50 pesos all in all. Since I can’t go back coz I’ll be late, I pursued. I need 60 pesos for my transportation back and forth, good thing I already have my stored value card for LRT, so i'll just be needing 30 pesos. Meaning, I've 20 pesos left which I have to squeeze for my lunch, merienda, candy, yosi, etcetera, etcetera. When I got in the office, the night shift people were still in, chit-chatting with Ma’am Mariel. Apparently, they were waiting for Don for them to have breakfast together. I said to Tere “Libre naman dyan!!” and she bought me a pancake. So I was able to eat a decent food for my first coffee break.
I was busily putting up a tactic on how to survive this day without having to make “utang” to my officemates or sell my soul to whoever (kidding of course!), when Liezel called and asked if we could go to lunch together. Wooosh! Life saver! She owes me 30 pesos for the cell phone e-load that she called for last night! So I have 50 pesos again, better than 20 but still short. I got my wallet and was about to get down and meet Liezel when I stumbled on this "free bigmac" stub which my sister Shy gave to me long, long ago(Get a free Bigmac at any Mcdonald’s outlet in the Philippines). WOW! I’ve 50 pesos in my wallet but I’m having Bigmac for lunch and an ice cold coke courtesy of Liezel.
On our afternoon coffee break, we had “lumpiang togue”, Jeff's treat, and man, was it good! They day's almost off and I still have the 50 pesos intact! I just need 15 pesos for my jeep ride home, and I can still buy "pasalubong" for Ugin! whudabouthat??!!

F.R.I.E.N.D.S., come to think of it, they didn’t know that I was in trouble and yet they came and saved the day!

for the cheerful departed

Just a normal, fine day, we had our lunch, some talk, some laughs. After the lunch break, they broke the news, that straightforward, blowing news. Everybody was asked to stay in one side of the office. Then the eviction started. I was one of the few survivors, or am I? More than half of the population of our office was retrenched. From 54, it was slashed to 16. Though my heart was bleeding for some of them, I was happy that they can be able to look for a better career. But how about this guy who was about to have his first baby, and was about to get married on August? How about this lady who thinks she’s not young enough to find another job? How about her kid’s schooling? It’s too painful to bear. I’m here today, trying to focus on my work, avoiding looking at those empty chairs, which is more than the occupied. I’ll miss Delfin, my tag team; I’ll miss Mara’s noisiness, or rather jolliness. I’ll miss Paulo and Jomay, my yosi-mates; I’ll miss the sweetness of Dona and Anna; I’ll miss Vernie’s guilelessness; I’ll miss Jeffrey’s mind blowing laughs; I’ll miss Karl’s quietness. I’ll miss you guys. For all you know, we’ll be in the second batch!

great wine

Red wine, Bugnay wine and Strawberry wine

Have you tried strawberry wine? It was good actually better than red wine (that’s my opinion). There was this Bugnay wine also but I haven’t tried it yet. My aunt Connie brought it because last Sunday was our town fiesta. Lots’a food, ati-atihan and beer and wine everywhere.

:)

Bro was back to school, I think everything’s gonna be alright now that it was accounted to the authorities. Keeping my fingers crossed.
