clowns
We went to Cabanatuan for my pamangkin, Airish Joshua’s 7th birthday, (ugin wasn’t able to go with us since he had a fever that day) there were clowns and traditional event games like “basagang palayok and “pabitin”. It was a riot, the clown duo was good, they made everybody smiling, and even the grown-ups enjoyed their performance.
I had never seen cooking with the use of “sinibak na kahoy” or “gatong” for a long time, until then. They said if the food was cooked using a gatong, the food is tastier, and more delicious, I don't know why and I'm not sure if it's true, but the "sopas" cooked in there was definitely tasty and delicious.
Happy b-day AJ!!!

Y&G, I have been meaning to leave a comment about the clowns but the gatong caught my attention.
First the clowns. I bet the kids had a wonderful time. It's always nice to see children enjoying themselves.
The gatong. I love playing with gating. I am a pyromaniac. If there is fire, I will play with it, poke it, feed it, just keep on fiddling with it. I love that pot!
My younger sister is a physician and everytime she goes home to the procince, I have been told she likes to cook using gatong. while the maids use the stove.
Ces,
I was sure it would be the "gatong" that would get your attention, in 1990's when brown-out was an everyday event, I remember my mom cooks using uling (charcoal), the smoke hurts my eyes everytime :)
