tell it to the marines

Let me give you an overview of the situation here right now, there was a declaration of the country being under the “State of National Emergency” which is going to be the governments protective shield for the alleged threat of forced take-over.

There was a standoff at Fort Bonifacio yesterday because someone resigned and another someone was assigned to the position, but this someone doesn’t want to accept this new someone to be his officer in chief because he said the someone who resigned did not actually resign but was cogently terminated (let's not name names, they might track me down and bring me to prison) Yeah, it is truly complicated, not to mention the politicians who went there saying they are there to prevent bloodshed, to talk it out diplomatically and to pray for the Filipino people (you can pray at home, God will still hear you!),,, please, you are not doing any good, you just want to be a part of this because… you just want to,,, you really don’t have any intention to help,,, you were there for your own personal interests, or maybe you are just so damn fuming and envious to GMA because she was able to do that, and right now, nobody can put her out of her office. Everybody wants to be on her shoes,,,, everybody wants to be president!!!,, Don’t get me wrong, I’m not pro GMA, but if ever she goes down, who’s gonna take her place??? Susan Roces??? Pleeeease!!! Or you might want Loren or Tita Cory or Erap…. There is a very long list of wannabe's but nobody really deserves the position (not even GMA). I don’t want to lose the freedom that we all have right now, But there are people going over the limits of their rights and some of them are really causing more and more trouble each time they take actions, not helpful at all. I hope that those in the position would, for once, really think what would be best for our country and its people (after all, that includes them!)

Now, the hanging question,,, will there be martial law? I hope not,,, but I hope so, too, so that the “EPAL” people can have the days of their lives!!! Martial law can be good if it will not be abused. I mean like a mother to her children, sometimes the children needs some spanking for them to be taught,,, besides, they are asking for it, they are teasing. So let’s give what they want!!!

Mom and dad were arguing yesterday, daddy for the anti-martial law and mommy for the pro. Dad says it’s hard to be under a martial law, people will lose their freedom of speech (that is only number one)... while mom here says she likes the idea of curfew so that we’ll all be home by 10!!! Jheeez!!!

"Emergency rule allows arrests without warrants and extended detention without charge. Analysts say it is a very sensitive issue in the Philippines, where martial law was in force for nine years under President Marcos. Both the Philippine stock market and the national currency, the peso, plunged at the news of the emergency declaration. Over the past few months, Mrs. Arroyo has faced a mounting crisis because of allegations of vote rigging and corruption. She survived an impeachment attempt in September 2005 and an army mutiny, involving some 300 soldiers, in July 2003. " (BBC news)

“This is my warning to those who are attempting anything against the government“ (Gloria Macapagal Arroyo – President RP)

“The more Arroyo tries to take away our civil liberties, the more we will fight back” (Meggy Guzman – Activist)

People of the Philippines...
What are we to do?...
Where are we to go?...

epipanio delos santos avenue

Today is February 24, 2006 a day before the anniversary of EDSA revolution 1. It’s been 20 years,,, and there is outrage in the streets of Makati right now,,, yeah, near (actually, very near) our office! Because they were not permitted to blow their sentiments off to the streets of EDSA! So I think we will be going home early today (yehey!). I've received a text message earlier; apparently, GMA declared that we are in a “State of Emergency”!... whatsoever that means, it doesn’t sound so nice.

People of the Philippines; let’s pray for our country and our stupid government!!!

And for those people behind all these commotions, on behalf of their own selfish intentions,,,

SANA KUNIN NA KAYO NI LORD!!!!

decoded finally!!!

Hey, I've finally finished reading “The Da Vinci Code” since last Friday (just didn't have the inspiration to write that time because of obvious reasons!!!) and it was a great story. Learning history while enjoying a cat and mouse chase, a real throttle! Being able to wander (in my imagination) around the grandest museums, churches and other historical places in Paris and London! Aside from the beautiful story, it has also given me a more logical outlook to Christianity. I would have to recommend it; really a good read! “EDUCATIONAL”.

The Rosslyn Chapel

“The lost grail, we will find once we are able to comprehended our true selves, because it is hidden in our hearts and we are just too terrified to face it. It is not betrayal to Christ, it’s just being truthful.” (quoted by me!)

Alright, let me say this as a Christian who was brought up brainwashed! Haha! There will be a few changes in me, and that decision, I made myself. My certainty in Christ is rock-hard and nobody can blow that apart. I have survived this far in this cruel life because of HIM, when there is no one else to turn to, HE is always there and he never left me especially in the lowest days of my life! And as a pay off, never will I leave HIM. I’m keeping hold of one thing…… my faith.

Louvre's Inverted Pyramid

I will be waiting for “The Da Vinci Code” film. This is gonna be nice!

mr. cupido

Let me introduce to you, ladies and gentlemen….
CUPID.
A.K.A.
-Roman god of love
-cupid is latin for "desire" {cupido}
-son of Venus (goddess of love and beauty) & Mercury
-companion to Venus
-Cupid's brother was Anteros (the revenger of slighted love; also, the symbol of requited love/ - reciprocal affection)
-Cupid and Psyche (Greek word for "butterfly"; English word for "soul")

To the Romans Cupid was an innocent (a child), though sometimes mischievous and a "naughty boy". While the ancient Greeks believe he is the God Eros who was an older and more terrible god. Among the Greeks, not only Hermaphrodite but Eros too was in sex both male and female.Eros was no interfering child to the Greeks, but a powerful god to be feared and to entreat: his/her arrows burned with the fire of lust and madness as well as romance, at its worst capable of driving men and women to betrayal of their families or countries, to rape, to murder, to suicide... (There is the dark side of cupid, can't you see)

Later poets, writing of Cupid, remembered this more ancient interpretation:

"Evil is his heart, but honey-sweet his tongue.
No truth in him, the rogue. He is cruel in his play.
Small are his hands, yet his arrows fly far as death.
Tiny his shaft, but it carries heaven-high.
Touch not his treacherous gifts, they are dipped in fire."

Another good one from plato:

"Love - Eros - makes his home in men's hearts,
but not in every heart, for where there is hardness he departs. ...
he cannot do wrong...For all men serve him of their own free will.
And he whom Love touches not walks in darkness."

Of course the most popular story about cupid is his love for Psyche
, and the "trials of Psyche", the seemingly impossible tasks imposed on Psyche by Venus as Psyche attempts to win back her love. Whew!

Cupid and Psyche

Ok now let me tell you a good one......
In closing, I will leave you with one story of a vengeful Cupid:

DAPHNE was APOLLO's first love, which was brought about not by accident but by Cupid's nastiness. Apollo, the god of music, was overjoyed with his triumph over Python. When he saw Cupid playing with his bow and arrows, he offended the young god by asking him to leave such weaponry to men worthy of them and commanded that Cupid not interfere with his armory. Annoyed by Apollo's insolence, Cupid unveiled two arrows of different workmanship from his quiver -- one to excite love, the other to repel it. With the repellent arrow, he shot DAPHNE, daughter of the river god PENEUS, and with the arrow of love, he shot Apollo through the heart. From that moment onward, the god was seized with love for the young maiden, while she loathed the thought of loving. His chase of her led them into a hysterical and frantic chase -- he on the wings of love, and she on those of fear. Her strength beginning to fail, Daphne begged her father (the river god) to alter her form and immediately she was transformed into a tree, to Apollo's despair.

There you go,,, you don’t want to mess up with cupid, you might end up like Apollo!!! So stop calling him stupid!!!

Have a lovefull day this valentines.

    heart's day

Hey people it’s Valentines,,, I hope everybody’s happy because I am. It's not because I have the most ideal relationship in the world, in fact it’s not even close to that, but I’m happy because where ever I turn my head, I find people who loves me, who cares for me and whom I can count on (that gives you an idea of how wonderful a person I am!) ;-)

Anyways, Just to tell you people, I don’t date on Valentines Day because I think it's kinda corny but we do celebrate it (di nga lang kami sumasabay) but sometimes, it’s nice to be corny. Well, how do you describe love but of one thing….. CORNY!!!

Happy heart’s day people, remember, you don’t need to be in a romantic relationship to celebrate this day. You just have to be with the person or set of people that makes you happy.

Again, I don’t date on Valentines Day, so whoever wants to go to my house to celebrate and have a drink, you are very welcome!!!

    LOVE WISELY!!!

    mona lisa smile

I’m really intrigued with the novel “Da Vinci code”, I’m still reading the book and I’m not sure how long it’s gonna take me to finish it. I’ve been wandering on the net to search for important facts about Da Vinci’s works, were there really codes? And there are hundreds of really interesting sites available. There are also hundreds of secrets being revealed and they are really fascinating, but these are still a mixture of facts and fiction, the code specialists might be over-imagining things, you know, he can describe it as this but it’s a different picture to others.
    scary!
Some of the intriguing questions were, “is Jesus married to Magdalene?” or “Is the Mona Lisa a self portrait of Da Vinci” “what is Da Vinci’s sexuality?”

To the Christians out there, this is merely a test to our faith, it might give us a clear view of Christianity or it might destroy our belief. God has given us free will because he gave us knowledge for us to be able to decide for ourselves. As for me, I’m perfectly open to some changes, but my faith in God will forever be there, and no doubt HE will be my only GOD for the rest of time.

    the golden dad

Today is a special day. And why is that?? Today is my daddy’s golden birthday.

I can’t believe he’s already fifty. In fairness to him, he doesn’t look fifty. He’s cool, he has long hair (as in!) ear piercing and he dresses up like a twenty year old. I’m not saying this because he’s my dad and it’s his birthday today,,, I’m saying this because I really think my dad is hot! Well, He sometimes annoys me because he could be really indolent (you have no idea how lazy he could be!), he most of the time stays at our barangay headquarters (which annoys my mom because he would leave the store to mom by herself) forgot to tell, he’s a “kagawad”. He is sometimes bungangero especially to Ugin and Rich, he also loves to play tong-its, well all of us do, (I think it’s in the genes). You will admire my dad’s feet, it’s super clean, his nails kinda like sparkle that I’m sometimes ashamed to put my feet next to his! One thing about him, he’s one religious man! He never misses the church and he goes to Quiapo every Friday (that’s his “panata”) I don’t know if this has anything to do with his Jesus Christ look–alike features, Yes, he looks like Jesus, and I think I’m blessed to see an imitation of Jesus’ face everyday! Haha! This guy loves to party, too. He could be the life of the party, and his one-liners always win through. I know he cares for us even if he’s not glitzy, you know. He may not be perfect, he’s not even the best and our views won’t meet often but I think nobody loves us as much as he does. Hey daddy, I don’t say this often but hear this “I LOVE MY DAD!!!” I really do!

We’ll be partying at our house later (‘can’t wait!) . My titos and titas are coming, my cool cousins are coming, and we will drink and party hard man! They’ll be bringing my favorite,,, JOSE CUERVO! And for you my daddy, may your golden years be always fun and exciting. WE LOVE YOU!!! Happy Birthday!

    *willl give you updates.*
